Introduction to OpenEvo

OpenEvo is the methodology that allows Evo M51 users to develop their own custom Xcelerator Blocks and integrate them into the on-board FPGA.

This methodology requires the following tools:

Notes:

  • Quartus Prime Lite is only supported on Windows and Linux.
  • Creating a custom XB requires knowledge of Verilog/VHDL design and familiarity with Intel Quartus and Modelsim tools.   However, we have automated as many of the steps as we can into the scripts that we provide.

Getting Started with OpenEvo

We currently provide two video tutorials for getting started with the OpenEvo methodolgy.
We recommend starting with the Quickstart Tutorial and then movie on to the Methodology Tutorial.
